Pictures from the UK

Every day I was in Wells I used to think how lucky I was to live there. It was like living in an architectural museum. Which shut unfortunately on the dot of 5:30. Vancouver is a beautiful city also but in a different way, and a lot of it isn't particularly photogenic except for the waterfront area. But I will get a collection soon enough. In the meantime here are some pretty pictures from the UK.

On of the good things about walking past the Market Place on the way to work in the morning (when I was there) was stumbling across scenes like this. Wells has maintained the ancient right to have a fair in the Market Place every year. For a small town they put on some pretty fabulous events. They also have a parade of lights every year, which is dead impressive, and it takes a lot to impress me.

Cupcakes from Fortnum and Mason, scoffed outside of the London Eye after Cailli, myself, and Claire had gone up. They look beautiful but unfortunately the cake was dry and mealy and the icing was tasteless. No one does cupcakes like the North Americans! I miss Fortnum and Mason, but now I have someplace I definitely want to see when I visit London next, including Jermyn Street for the nice shirts!

Lunch at the Cloisters in the Wells Cathedral, right next door to work. This is a very good place to take visitors and clients. All the food is homemade by little old grannies and it has a great atmosphere. This is where the church workers used to have their meals. There are tombstones on the floor and commemorative stones on the wall.
